What Sets Us Apart

At HHWH Transportation, we acknowledge that medical appointments are extremely important to the health of a patient and ideally should not be missed under any circumstances. However, sometimes people miss their appointments for reasons beyond their control, one of which is the unavailability of a reliable means of transportation to and from the appointment.

Missing medical appointments has the following impact on the patients:

• When patients do not follow up or continue their treatment plan according to schedule, it can significantly affect the outcome of their treatment.
• Failure to attend appointments may put people with one or more long-term conditions at risk of premature death. Frequently missed appointments are generally associated with hospitalization and mortality.
• Among recently diagnosed diabetics, missing primary care appointments increases the risk of hospital admission.
• Missed appointments by hypertensive patients can lead to severe complications which increase the risk of mortality or chronic morbidity.
• Research shows that patients with long-term mental health conditions who missed more than two appointments per year had an increased risk of all-cause mortality compared with those who missed no appointments.
